Frequently Asked Questions

What is a prepaid funeral plan?

A prepaid funeral plan lets you arrange and pay for selected elements of a funeral service in advance. It also gives your family clear guidance when it’s time to organise the service.

How much does a prepaid funeral cost?

The cost depends on the type of farewell you choose and what you decide to include in your prepaid plan. Once your plan is confirmed, the cost of those selected services is fixed. If your family chooses to add anything outside the plan later, they can pay for those items separately.

Can I pay for my prepaid funeral in instalments?

Yes. You can pay for your prepaid funeral plan in full upfront, or pay a 30% deposit and spread the remaining balance across monthly instalments for up to 36 months.

Can I change my prepaid funeral plan later?

If your needs or circumstances change, you can amend your prepaid funeral plan. Please note that additional fees may apply.

What happens to my prepaid plan if I move?

If you relocate within Australia, your plan can usually be transferred to another provider within our nationwide network. Let us know if your circumstances change, and we can help update the location of your service.

What happens to my money?

Your funds are securely held until the funeral takes place – whenever that might be. They are invested by the Over Fifty Guardian Friendly Society Limited, which uses expert investment managers and is regulated by APRA.

What happens when I pass away?

When the time comes, your family contacts the funeral director named in your plan. We’ll guide them through the next steps and arrange the selected services according to your wishes.
